Wine and health
There is no doubt that excess is rarely beneficial, even with respect to wine consumption. However there is also no doubt that moderate wine consumption, in conjunction with a sensible diet and way of life, can help to maintain good health.
Wine can strengthen the heart and the cardiovascular system, help digestion and have a beneficial influence on the elasticity of the blood vessels, to name but a few of the potential positive effects. Due to its stimulating properties, wine can also contribute to improving the subjective sense of well-being.
The health-promoting properties of wine have been used to cure illnesses all the way back to ancient times. Today, many of its effects have been scientifically studied and knowledge has also been gained about when wine consumption should be avoided due to personal health risks.
